Rhurzth brought Thorn back to a cell and the questioning began. With nowhere to go and no allies left in Eldervale, Thorn started talking, about what he took from the ruins, what he knew about the Cult of the Lich Empress, and how much deeper Selene's reach into the town had gone than anyone realized.
While that was happening, Cil went to the bakery. He had a lead, someone he'd seen at the town hall who didn't fit, who moved with too much purpose for a civilian. He followed them through the district on foot, keeping enough distance to stay unseen, until they ducked into a warehouse and descended through a trap door in the floor. Cil marked the location and sealed the trap door with an Immovable Rod. Nobody's going anywhere in a hurry.
The cult had a foothold inside Eldervale that was bigger and older than the ruins investigation suggested. The trap door was proof of it. Whatever was down there connected to what Thorn had been telling them. And the clock on the growths spreading through town was still running.
